Thanksgiving Side Dish Ideas

Still haven’t figured out what to make for Thanksgiving?  Do you need to bring a dish to grandma’s and you don’t know what to make?  Here are a few of my recipes that I would recommend.

The pecan cranberry cornmeal muffins would be an excellent addition to the bread basket.  They're sort of like cornmeal stuffing in the form of a muffin.  Just type their name in the "search this blog" cell.

Candied yams are a must.  It should probably be against the law not to have these on the table.  They're my family's favorite, and they will probably become yours.

Roasted root vegetables with a maple orange glaze are so tasty and beautiful, they scream Thanksgiving.

Squash stuffed baked apples could easily be a side dish or a dessert.  Increase the sweeteners a little and it's like pumpkin pie in an apple.

Maybe you forgot to add something green/raw to your table?  So much of the traditional Thanksgiving meal is cooked carbohydrates, it nice to have the balance of something that isn’t cooked.  My Winter Cole Slaw might be what you need.  Walnuts or pecans instead of the almonds would be an excellent substitute.

I hope this was helpful, and I hope you all have a Happy Thanksgiving.  Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday because it's centered around food and family.  Even though I'm jobless and my finances are in chaos, I am thankful for the things I do have.  A warm home, a wonderful extended family, and good health.  Be well.
